How to Make Gulkand Lassi
Lassi is a traditional Indian drink made from yoghurt and is very popular in North India. It has rich creamy texture, and you can add any flavours of your choice like cardamom, mango, rose etc. Since it is made with yoghurt- which contain gut friendly bacteria- it offers many health benefits like regularizing bowl movement, aiding in digestion and is also a rich source of calcium which is good for your bones.
This lassi recipe uses gulkand which is an excellent ingredient to beat summer heat. Pro Tip: Don’t use blender to make lassi, else the yoghurt will become thin and watery.
- 2cups Curd
- 4tbsp Gulkand
- Ice cubes
- 2tbsp Almonds
- In a large bowl whisk chilled curd using a wire whisk until smooth and creamy.
- Add ½ cup chilled water and gulkand and whisk vigorously until the gulkand is mixed properly.
- Pour it into serving glasses and garnish with chopped almonds and pistachios.
