Gulkand Phirni Recipe

Gulkand Phirni recipe is one such dessert which you can prepare at home with simple and easily available ingredients. It is usually made using basmati rice, coarsely grounded and is cooked on low flame. But, today, the megastar of this dessert delicacy is our exclusive gulkand, which is obtained from a particular kind of rose species known as ‘damask’ which blooms only twice a year and when added to any basic phirni recipe, lends a fragrant scent with an exotic flavor.

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Ltr. Full cream milk
- 1/4th cup Rice
- 1/2th cup Desi Khand
- 1 tsp. Cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp. Gulkand from Native Organica
- Dry fruits (as required)
PROCEDURE:
- First soak basmati rice for 30 mins and grind until the consistency is coarse
- Take a pan, add full cream milk and bring to a boil.
- Once the milk starts boiling add ground rice, desi khand and cardamom powder.
- Mix it nicely and keep the flame low.
- Keep stirring the rice and milk on low flame so that the rice cooks evenly and it doesn’t stick to the bottom.
- Once the mixture is thick, turn off the flame, add gulkand and dry fruits in it and mix it completely.
- Allow the phirni to cool down. Once it cools down, pour in the dessert glasses and chill it for few hours to set.
- After few hours garnish with dry fruits and dried rose petals and serve.
